As a TR7 Sprint 5-speed FHC previous owner (UYA 540R - gone to scrap now) I'd say that view is about right, under-powered in basic spec, the Triumph Dolomite Sprint (127 BHP ?) engine should have been the standard fit with some fuel injection. I'm not sure if mine was a factory original Sprint but I remember buying it for £600 in 1988 off a girlfriends brother when the big ends were knocking! Spent far too much on it and sold it to a 'mate' for £200, he still owes me £100 . It had a Janspeed exhaust manifold, some Recarro seats that didn't tilt. The bumpers were plastic covered iron girders (I remember taking the front one off a good 60Ib ) which did nothing for the weight of the car (US regs were misunderstood) UK cars were still fitted with these heavyweight bumpers

Didn't change the title of the thread while I had the ability, but as threadstarter, I also consider favourite colours for bikes as fair game for the thread. The new retro is prevalent in motorbikes, and the originals can also be a thing of nostalgic beauty.

With electric at the moment volume is the key to profitable manufacture, but I like what Renault are doing. The new Renault 5 and Renault 4 tip their hats to the past but are unmistakably modern cars in all aspects. There are loads of gorgeous designs from cars of the past lying dusty in the archives which could easily be revived and if there is a market for them, as there is it would appear in motorbikes, some interesting offerings may emerge.

Colourful background to this little trio of the retro motorbikes to keep it visual. I know Triumph dabble, and Royal Enfield are old hands at the modern retro game, but didn't realise BSA and Kawasaki were joining in.

Yellow all the way The red on the P6 is lovely. Was never a fan of the Ford baby blue. I prefer my blues to be a bit deeper, like Bluebell's ...

I'm not really into pastel shades and subtle colours - I like 'em bold. As any recent visitor to my house will attest

A question

I have had two White cars, both bog-standard, Metro City and Ford Fiesta and one creamish-white Ford Sierra Estate. All three were what might be described as functional, A to B transport with little thought of aesthetics and in the case of the Fiesta and the Sierra more "need a car quick" purchases.

A couple of whites which caught my eye in the walk round the offerings at WB and Sons on Sunday are these...

Citroen Van again nicely turned out in White

There was also a White Stag which looked good but by-passed the shutter click for no particular reason.

White is a great colour and I've had loads of white cars over the years. My first Mini, in Old English White, started it. Then a white MG Metro, a white Turbo Metro and a white Rover Metro. A white Fraud Sierra, A white Volvo 340. A white 2.1TD Xantia Estate, Daffodil, my erstwhile AX, Sally, my erstwhile Saxo and I seriously looked at a white C3 Picasso before I settled on Polly.
