Or if like me you don't have access to a lathe ....
There dead easy to make up if you have a spare parts car to raid for hydraulic bits:

This one really did only take me 20minutes to have working on a bench. I then just grabbed a bit of wood and screwed it down to the wood.
You don't need anything other than a spanner to make it (no lathe, welder, taps, dies etc... required).

Thanks Kowaski but Shane's looks a bit easier.
Where have you put the pressure guage?
What's the pressure guage max?
How are you driving the pump?

I think the guage is about 1800psi (I'll have to check)... I only paid about 1.75quid for it.
I just use a socket on the middle nut of the hydraulic pump and turn it with the 'speeder' type socket bar (you know the socket wrench that's looks just like a CX wheelbrace). You do NOT need to power the pump. You'll only need to turn the speeder bar for about 5seconds to get a reading.

Woops didn't answer your questions...
Hose connections:
High pressure:
--Pump out to regulator input
--Regulator output to pressure guage
ie: only two connections, just use a bit of HP line from a wreck that already has the bubble flares (that's what did).
Low pressure:
-Resevoir to pump
-Regulator return to reseviour
That's it ... To bloody simple for words. I still wish I'd made one about 10years ago !!!

Shanes looks easier because you've got the BX spares knocking about.
If you've got access to a lathe, pillar drill, some steel and a spare bottle jack [;)]

If you don't want to convert psi to bar you could try this search on ebay:
http://search.ebay.co.uk/pressure-gauge-bar
If you click 'advanced search' and select 'items available to: United Kingdom' (or wherever) you will find some more.
