Those sort of "ordinary" routines are what friendship is about Gibbo, and you will miss your friend Jean, and feel the loss. In posts on here I think you referred to Jean as "my old friend" (apologies if I have got that wrong), she may well be the lady with the painting of Bigsweir Bridge on her lounge wall.
Gibbo2286 wrote: 02 Jul 2021, 17:53 You picked the same part as me Neil, I copied that photo for my old friend, she has a painting of it done by her cousin on her lounge wall. It's Bigsweir Bridge if you would like to know more.

Yes Neil that's the lady, I've known her and her family for over fifty years, she worked for me in my business for a long time until I sold out.

I just found out something that made me smile. In 1866 Lichtenstein sent 80 men to war in their last military campaign. 81 returned, as they had made a friend!

I was in WHY? mode whilst in the shower earlier. Why is it when you find out your having your first child NO ONE ever tells you you are gunna be ill for the next 18yrs of your life? Why are you not advised by your parents when growing up that you will ALWAYS have to raise the shower head cos you live with midgets! And WHY do men have to put the toilet seat down after going for a wee? Granted we get away with, need a curry, sex etc to bring the birth on quicker. But still.... if us men use the toilet 12 times, that's 10 stands and 2 sits. Women, 12 sits. They don't want to touch the seat because we sat on it. They've sat on it 12 times!!!!!

Five kids and never noticed, just taken it for granted I suppose.

I live alone, except have my eldest grandson living here temporarily.
I hate toilet seats and lids left up, always have to close them.

I'm not aloud to ask if you're male or female cos that would be inappropriate, not sure if I can ask what you identify as either as that might be inappropriate as well!! This so call modern world is fcking crazy, typed by a 39year old boy/man/undetermined

In my professional life* these days I find many correspondents indicate their pronoun in their formal email sign-off signatures.

For instance:

Felicity Fforbes
She/Her

I have just ended up almost in hysterics after reading an item on Instagram about a turkey stuffing (from the 80s). One ingredient was 1/2 cup uncooked popcorn. The final line goes thus;

"Mix well. Stuff turkey. Cook for 5 hours at 300 degrees or until popcorn blows the ass off the turkey.".

For anybody who was interested, the full recipe for the 'explosive' turkey stuffing is as follows;

4 cups crushed dry bread,
1/2 cup sage,
1/4 cup onions,
1/2 cup celery,
1/2 cup uncooked popcorn,
1 tsp salt,
5 cup broth

Mix well. Stuff turkey. Cook 5 hours at 300 degrees or until popcorn blows the ass off the turkey.

On a similar train of thought James, Why do we eat chickens and not hens?? Surely the rooster doesn't get eaten so only female chickens known as hens....
