Pleasant insurance surprise

Post by daviemck2006 »

In November 2018 while driving on a dark country road I had the misfortune to hit a rather large deer, which resulted in the car being an insurance write off. It was a Seat Leon which I had recently bought and it was in absolutely immaculate condition. I was going to repeat it myself, but because the car was so good it would have ruined it getting fixed with salvage parts. I can't remember the exact figures but do recall that I got paid out a few hundred more than I paid for the car, and I saw it for sale in a salvage auction a few weeks later.

So I know it was put back on the road, been constantly tested and taxed since. Imagine my surprise then when today I got a letter from the insurance company stating they had under valued the car by nearly £500! Add on interest of nearly £200 and I'm going to get a cheque for this within the next 14 working days!

Now with so much scams on the go this has made me wonder about this. The letter looks genuine, there is a number to call and an email address to contact if I have any questions about this. However the letter states there is no need to contact them, the cheque will automatically sent with no further action on my part.

I am not going to contact them, I will wait the time, I suppose 3 weeks and see what happens. I shall let you know if I do get this money. I don't think its a scam and the cash will come in very handy though.

You should be able to take a photo of it on your phone and send that to the bank to deposit it.
