Diagbox can't find ckp & frp ?

Post by max1 »

I have diagbox 7.57 running & need to read the fuel rail pressure & crank position sensor but i can't find them anywhere ?

For the fuel pressure if I go into > injection/ignition, then I am offered these options:
1.jpg
2.jpg
3.jpg
Then if i go into > fuel injection and emission control, there is nothing for fuel pressure:
4.jpg
5.jpg
6.jpg
I've looked everywhere for fuel pressure but can't see it.

Also have looked everywhere for a ckp reading but can't see it.

Have been through every menu in every section i can find including the personalised ones but can't find.

Am new to this so perhaps i am missing something really obvious ?

Thanks

Go into the injection ECU after the global test, then choose standard parameter measurements, then let it load up, then choose IGNITION.

Thanks but there is nothing there.

I double click on this:

Then click this:

Then click on IGNITION & then the next menu only shows this:

Sorry Max - that's what I thought you wanted - crankshaft info? If not what you are looking for, try personalised parameters and see if there is anything more suitable to select. Most of this sort of thing will be in the injection ECU section, but do have a browse about - it is French after all. Just be careful not to change any parameters as there is no undo anywhere!

Thanks Marc. Am looking for fuel rail pressure first of all ?

Sorry, I am a novice & trying to learn so am not too good yet with all the terminology. I have a non start & have been advised by someone on another forum to > "Check ckp during cranking" &
"Check frp actual and desired during cranking"

In the Injection Menu you were in, there is usually a CAMSHAFT option a few lines below the IGNITION option I mentioned earlier (it is under Lexia as opposed to Diagbox). If you have a P0335 fault, this will relate to engine speed fault and can usually be put down to a faulty Camshaft Position Sensor.

The Fuel Rail Pressure should be in the Injection ECU menu there somewhere.

No nothing for nothing for fuel rail pressure, anywhere. I have no codes present & crank but no start, but maybe that should be another thread. I've watched a few videos on diagbox & can clearly see where fuel pressure should be but it's just not there for me. Same with camshaft info. Weird.

Just want to rule out the obvious - are you getting an immobiliser key light on the dash?? Cranking without a start can also be an immobiliser issue if the transponder chip needs repairing. To check, don't try starting the car for 10 minutes (in case it has gone into anti scanning mode), then put key in ignition and turn to accessories only, hold lock button on fob for 5 seconds, release button, then remove key - do not try to start yet. Then try locking and unlocking the central locking with the fob. Then try and start the car.

The fuel pressure should be in the standard parameter measurements of the injection ECU. Don't forget to scroll the pages. It is there.

After Global Test completes, go down to the 'Engine ECU' (indicated by a spark plug icon and a Zig zag or similar), and select it. When that loads, go to standard parameter measurements. Then select Fuel Circuit Information, ok the message if necessary and then you'll get all the info:

What engine are you talking about? It looks like a petrol to me, in which case the fuel pressure is probably not there. You can see the crank info there, reading zero - crank the engine on that page and see if it changes.

Yes petrol - I forgot! It's a 207 3 DOOR SALOON 1.4 i 16v VVT 95 Manual gearbox 5 Richard.

Perhaps they don't supply it for the 'Feed Ramp':

Ep3 engine I think. No immobiliser faults ( I think) as the keys are recognised ok as there is a beep with key in & door open. Also done a BSI reset a few times but no good.
Car was running fine. However the battery was disconnected (following the correct procedure to protect the ECU) & after reconnection no start. I did have an F5FF code but that has cleared & not come back. Battery is fully charged. All fuses have been checked.

With no codes now I need to go through the basics hence looking for fuel pressure & cam signals. Am going to go get some starter fluid I think to see if I have a fuel problem first. I can hear the pump priming with ignition on so probably not the pump. Then ill use a test light to try & check for spark, injector power & pulse & take it from there. Hoping the BSI or ECU has not been damaged some how!

Thanks for any advice

After reading a bit about starting fluid it seems like not such a good idea as it looks like it could mess up the MAF sensor. Does anyone have any idea how to check fuel pressure in this engine?

Top of that page, does it show an engine speed when cranking?
