Lexia 3 and Depressurizing/Repressurising/Bleeding

Good Evening, this is my first post on here and am in need of a bit of help with my C4 Grand Picasso 2.0 16v SX 2008, I need to change the clutch and CSC on the car I have changed clutches before but never on a egs gearbox. I have got lexia 3 to do Depressurizing/Repressurising/Bleeding the hydraulic circuit and gearbox programming but the problem is i do not know how to use Lexia and how to achieve what i need to do im hopping the is someone that could help my please.

Hi Mark

The process is automated and guided step by step once you select the relevant procedure from the menu.

Once you connect up and it has identified your vehicle, you should run a Global Test. After that you should select the relevant ECU or system from those displayed. In this case the Piloted Gearbox System - is should be indicated with an icon to the left, so suggest it might be one showing the gearbox.

Once you select and confirm this option, a new menu will open up and from there you can select the relevant operation. You may have to go into a repair menu or similar to find the correct option, but remember not to change anything in any of the configuration sections, as this can change parameters in the ECU. There is no undo option, so be warned.

Hi Marc,

Thanks so much for the info you have given, so i just need to stay out of configuration sections. Is it right that you have to put a power source ie jump pack on the battery as well when using Lexia.

Hi Mark - always make sure your laptop is powered via the mains or be absolutely confident that you have disabled all the advanced power saving functions (like disabling the powering off off the USB ports) and ensuring that closing the lid will not suspend or put the laptop to sleep - as these can affect the communication ports of the laptop.

If you don't have mains access, then spend some time ensuring the system is fully charged, disable all power saving features, and ensure services like windows update is turned off and any antivirus software - as you will not be connecting to the internet and these services can interfere with operations - especially Windows Update that can slow everything down to a crawl. Also, when using Diagbox, ensure you wifi / network card is operational and enabled, but make sure that there are NO active internet connections - so make sure you disconnect from all known networks, and that the laptop cannot automatically connect up to the internet.

When loading up Diagbox, do not allow it to check for updates - just press the red cross.

There is no need to put a jump pack on the battery - under normal operation, there is more than sufficient power to meet the relatively small demands that that the VCI will need - except where it is undertaking procedures on the vehicle such as actuator tests etc. So always a good idea to make sure the battery is in a good state anyway.

The bleeding / programming procedure is pretty power hungry, Lighty, who fixes these for a living, puts an external power source on when doing this.
