Hello, I've got a 1984 Fuego 2ltr turbo which has been stood for 11 years. I can't get a spark. Have replaced the coil with a new one but still no joy. Does anyone know of anyone who can test the ignition control unit? Does anyone know where can buy a replacement unit? If all else fails does anyone know if it is possible to replace the system with a Ford or other manufacturer's system? Regards Roger

Some maybe useful info I found at: http://www.renaultalpineownersclub.com/ ... f=2&t=3020
What does the module look like BTW? is it based on a standard Delco HEI module?do you need the ignition coil or the module itself? the ignition coil is common across alot fo the older renaults.
the module has a different RE number than the gordini turbo, but a gordini turbo one will fit- as they have the same pin layout.
the R5 GT Turbo one will also fit, is in far more plentiful supply , but you will have to cut open the plugs and move the pins around for them to fit into the gtt style layout.
the only reason i know this is i fitted a fuego turbo module to my gtt once.

Hello, Thanks for your reply. Sorry it's taken me a while to respond but I have only just seen your message. It's a silver alloy based item with a black cover over some gubbins and round raised part as well as some black connectors on the base. Ive got a replacement new coil, it's the module needed. You will gather from my reply I am not so mechanically minded, please excuse the ignorance. Regards Roger
