Torque setting help needed!

Post by doctle »

Do any of you gentlemen know the torque setting for the deflection pulley on a stretchy belt. The car is a 1.4 hdi 207. I asked the local indie he said gudentite. I rang Peugeot main dealer he helpfully told me to book it in and they would do the pulley. Any help appreciated this is the last job on the car.

Hi Marc,
There is just the crank pulley and the alternator pulley on the car, no aircon, and the deflection pulley. It's a stretchy belt. The bolt in no 4 is 37nm? that might be close enough?

These are the settings for your engine with and without A/C so I just put them up as they are not separate.

We’re not dealers of course, but try to help people out voluntarily. Peoples’ terminology is different and that is half the battle, but glad you have what you want.

Thanks Marc, it's not the timing belt I was replacing only the alternator drive belt. Apparently most of the 1.4's had a spring loaded tensioner some like mine have no tensioner and a stretchy belt. The bearings in the guide pulley are gone on mine at the minute it's just hand tight I didn't want to go down the really tight route in case I strip the hole.
