Arrrrrrr
Guys. I'm sitting here with a box of matches contemplating burning my car.
When driving around town all is well. When I get higher revs or try I've taking my car misses a beat and sometimes throws up 0087 fuel pressure on ibd scanner.
I'm scratching me head here not knowing. Any ideas?

Re: Arrrrrrr
So the fuel rail is intermittently unable to attain the required high fuel pressure when booting it.
When was the fuel filter last changed, it's a cheap and easy part to replace if in doubt?

Re: Arrrrrrr
The car has gone into backup mode to protect the engine, so you will have power restricted. It’s by design.
P0087 is to do with the engine ECU detecting low pressure at the fuel pressure sensor. So there is either a blockage in the fuel lines, or the fuel filter is blocked, or the high pressure fuel pump is damaged.
Your easiest thing to do is change the fuel filter first to see if this is the cause.

Or the sensor is kippered - not unknown.
Definitely fuel filter first though, as Marc says.

Re: Arrrrrrr
I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions about injectors at this point. There are many occasions when injectors will have fault codes which will be logged in the ECU. So I suggest we start with the easy things like the fuel filter and check the fuel lines before looking at more adventurous possibilities.

P1166: High pressure fuel regulation: Measured rail pressure higher than the maximum pressure
Specifically: Pressure of the fuel high pressure common injection rail measured higher than the maximum pressure of 1800 bars for 6 seconds
The fault will go after if it normalises after driving for 5 min with several full load accelerations for 10 seconds.
Suspects:
- Electrical harness
- Connectors
- High pressure fuel pump
- Engine ECU
- High pressure fuel sensor

Re: Arrrrrrr
The bad news it that PSA do not sell these separately and they specifically recommend these as not being removed from the supply rail. Which is why they only supply the rail.Grahambeveridge225 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2019, 17:56 Can anyone shed light wher the pressure sensor is located so I can have a look? Although you can get these aftermarket, I am aware from previous attempts by others that they have had issue on reassembly...
Item (2), and the pressure sensor is shown at the bottom as part of the rail.
The part for the rail is 1570L9 and is £265.06 from Citroen inc. VAT for the complete rail with sensor, so I do hope the Italian tune up sorts it

I've been given a faplite app to drive with plugged in over the weekend. Feel like I'm driving the millennium falcon now . Currently doing an injection correction as I drive
