Excellent work. This now makes two vehicles recently that needed replacement fuseboxes. Is this a pattern developing?

Hi all

I was reading all this and I have the same problem and found all the information helpful.

I changed fuses and was told might be the control unit so bought new one but nothing changed so I decided to change the resister and nothing changed so I disconnect the motor and give it direct supply and it’s working all the time when you start the car which is annoying but at least the car can be used.

I can find an elictrician that can give it the time to find the problem and I have to do it myself speacially after butting lots of money with no joy.

My problem is no light to the control unit most of the time and sometimes comes on but not work.

Can you help on finding the fault or how to get this bypassed and get it working again .?

I appreciate your help.

At the moment I have

New control unit
New resister
Motor checked and working fine.
Fuses all good.

Don’t know if there is anything else I need to check !?

Regards

Hi. Can you pop up your VIN here so I can check the exact system as there are different types. Also can you confirm what you have replaced? Are you talking about the Blower Control Module or the Heating Resistance module, or both? Or are referring to the climate control panel of the centre console that you changed?

Hi guys,

I have founds this site very helpful in trying to diagnose the problem on my Dads car but not getting anywhere and hoping you guys can help!

C4 (B7) 2011 hatchback- Blower not working

The lights on the dash for AC control and blower speed all light up and respond- but nothing happens
I have tried getting new heater resistor but that hasn't changed anything- (6441.AA/AF)
I disconnected the blower and gave it direct supply from battery and it works fine- when i connected to another 12v supply with 2A it just ticks over slowly (like a second hand on clock)
The car manual doesn't show me where the fuses are for blower unit/ AC control

also get this fault-
CLIM_REGULEE_UDS FAULT READING- B131C 01 -Passenger compartment air blower fault, status permanent.

Re: - DS4 heater not working

Post by daran »

Hi hope someone can help!

car is C4 (B7) DS4 - VIN - VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I have same issue as this, all the lights come on dash (and dials all respond eg for fan and for speed control), tried new Blower Control Module (2) nothing changed.
blower motor directly on battery works full throttle- and fan seem to spin freely with hand.

diagbox error -B131C 01- passenger compartment air blower fault- permanent.

not sure where to check the fuse for the blower- as car manual doesn't have it

Ok, so fault B131C-01 relates to an Air Blower Fault as suspected...

Somewhere the circuit line is in open circuit or in short circuit to the positive.
It could be one one of the following components / circuits, which may explain why it is working partially from a separate supply.
  • - Air blower motor
  • Control
  • Earth
  • Copy
  • Supply
  • Blower control module
The blower control is compared to the motor copy voltage.
Confirmation of the fault after 5 or 12 seconds depending on the type of fault.
The fault will be detectable at 100% for a blower setting from the BSI of between 30% and 70%.

Downgrade modes:
  • Malfunctioning of the production of cold air
  • Malfunctioning of the production of warm air
  • Malfunctioning of regulation of the temperature requested
  • Malfunctioning of the blowers
  • Malfunction of the windscreen demisting/de-icing
Suspect Areas
  • Electrical harnesses
  • Electrical supplies protection and management unit (BPGA) fuse F10
  • Air blower motor
  • Earth point MC46
  • Air conditioning ECU
  • Supplies protection and management unit (BPGA)
There is F10 (40A) in the electrical supplies management & Protection unit (marked 1032 on the diagram below).

Thank you so much for the reply!

I had a look and could not find F10 fuse the case doesn't even list the F10 fuse ...

I've moved your second post here - (please don't create multiple posts on the same matter - they will be deleted).

Now that you have supplied your VIN from the other post I'll check the fuse box in case it is a different variant.

Ok, so the part you want is on the underside - this is part of the removal procedure, so should give you an idea of location - just follow what you need:-

C4 BPGA A.PNG
(1) Supplies protection and management unit (BPGA).

The supply protection and management control unit is located on top of the ancillaries battery.
N.B. : The supplies protection and management unit cuts the power supply
to make the vehicle safe in the event of a short-circuit.
C4 BPGA B.PNG
Disconnect the ancillaries battery (at "a").
Fit an insulating cap on the positive terminal of the ancillaries battery.

Remove the following components (depending on the proximity of the operation zone):
  • The air intake ducts (according to equipment)
  • The air cleaner (according to equipment)
Press at "b", Lift the cover of the fuse box (2) (Upwards).
Remove the cover of the fuse box (2).
C4 BPGA C.PNG
N.B.: Always replace the nut (3).

Remove the nut (3), Remove a tamperproof label.
Disconnect the ancillaries battery positive cables and move them aside.
C4 BPGA D.PNG
Disconnect the connector (at "d").
Unclip at ("c", "e") : Slide the fuse box (1) (Upwards).
C4 BPGA E.PNG
Turn the power supply protection and management unit over; Handle it with care.
Remove the cover of the fuse box (4) (In the direction of the arrow).
Move aside the supply management and protection control unit; Handle it with care.

Remove:
  • The cover of the ancillaries battery
  • The service battery
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the service battery.
C4 BPGA F.PNG
Identification of the fuses (Lower panel):

"f" Identification of the fuses on the supply protection and management unit
"g" Identification of the fuses on the cover of the fuse box (5)
Identify the electric wires (at "h") in relation to the identified fuses (at "f", "g").

Thanks you will have a look at the underside of that unit, I am also struggling to find 40amp MIDI fuse easily, eurocarparts need to order that in apparently.

Re: C4 Heater/AC not working

I checked the fuse with multimeter and it has continuity. I don't think it's a fuse problem. I also took the motor off and checked voltage at the supply end to motor. At full fan speed showing 4v and lowest fan speed was showing 12-14v.

Any one know what the voltage should be?

I tested voltage at the black and red wire which comes of the resistor control module and goes to blower motor. See picture.

Been trying to read other topic areas to get an understanding and came across a post for DS4 regarding a faulty 10 PR/59 CLM.

I assume 8045 is the blower control module.
8050 is the blower motor module.

What is 8080?
What is 10PR/59 CLM and where do I find this?
Also if I want to check the Earth point MC46 where can I find that?

Thank for the help in advance...
