Free Citroen Mechanics Handbooks

Post by GiveMeABreak » 01 Nov 2018, 14:24

Citroen have a range of mechanics handbooks available, mostly for some models before and up to 2005 that are freely available to registered users. To make these more easily available to others, I have assembled the available resources into a table below with links to relevant PDF file which you can download.

These are in English and in PDF format. These are currently only available for the models listed, so please don't request them for other vehicles / models / years. They are not yet currently available for Peugeot, but I expect them to be available shortly covering similar years. When they are available, I will create a similar document and post it under the Peugeot section.

The info flows left to right to left in alphabetical / model order, bearing in mind that some years are not available for all models.

Click on the Year for the vehicle you want and then choose the option to download the file. Please bear in mind that some models of vehicle are covered in the same document for some years (i.e. C5 and C8), but these have been listed separately to avoid confusion - so don't be surprised if the document covers more than one model - just make sure you go to the right section within the document.

Marc,

A big thank you for pulling all these documents together, and overcoming a couple of technical issues in linking to them.

This is genuine and authoritative technical service/parts replacement information, which can be relied on.
It also adds (eg in the case of suspension spheres) full spec information not always found elsewhere (such as sphere damping figures).

Some of the service information is extremely detailed - eg timing belt replacement - and is a really good step-by-step mechanic's guide.

Some part numbers listed will have changed since the documents were issued, but these are easily checked and updated.

The documents are all high-quality PDF, so readily printable to any size required.

A great job, Marc.

I'll add these as any more become available chaps - but it would seem that at present, they are only releasing earlier models pre-2005. I'll keep an eye out though.

I have a stack of these in the original paper format going back as far as 1988 but don't have any newer than 2005 don't know if they producing them or just the paper format? They have been on Citroen service for years now so would have hoped any newer ones would have been released by now which is a shame. Does anyone know if any newer models are on the paid service?
They have also pretty much stopped all tech documentation/wiring diagrams in paper format, the last original paper workshop manuals for a new model that im aware of was the C8.

Could you post a list of the paper books you have, so that we can check whether they might plug any gaps in the assortment of those available online on service.citroen?

I'll need to go through some boxes in my garage to see what else I have, from memory the majority range from 97 to 04 with a few oddball ones before 97. A lot of them are similar but just model year updates.
I sold a lot of older ones I had on ebay a few years back.

Thanks, that will be interesting.
Wonder what year they started to produce these, and for what early car?

Citroen AXEL was a new one to me too.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_Axel

That '88 document is interesting in itself, as it covers models prior to what is on serv.cit. now - where the oldest seems to be C15 and XM.

It would be well worth our digitising these older booklets, to add to what we already have.
Am happy to scan here, but I'm sure something more local would be better!

Thanks very much for the list Marc, much appreciated, just got the 2005 c8 manual because it references my engine and it's always good to research cam belt changes from as many good sources as possible.

Although the build date of your Picasso was 23/11/2001 - it should still have everything relevant in the 2002 model handbook. :)
