Changing a gear selector rod seal

Post by Cutac »

So, car is a 2011 C4 1.4 VTi and there is a slight leak on the gear selector rod seal.
Looks like this

Can the seal be changed(it's available to buy on citroen.service) without disassembling the gearbox?

Haha, that was the only way I could make it somewhat visible

Hey, one more question. Same car, changed coolant the last November and it was alright until August. Then the level dropped by approximately half a centimeter. It stayed like that for 2 months and one day it went right to the bottom. Then I topped it up and it's not dropping anymore.
Checked the car, no leaks, no mayo on the oil cap...

Air pocket in the cooling system has dislodged itself?
Or a spot of localised boiling (and coolant throw-out), caused either by the above, or a faulty/sticky thermostat?

I don't think coolant's been thrown out, there are no stains. But I will go and buy a new reservoir cap tomorrow, just as a precaution.
