Suspension Stuck on high rear and low front
Starting 2 days ago I have a 4h trip driven , at the way back the alternator broke , I drive with the battery for 1h then antipolution comes up and car stop. I call family for help , My sisters husband come with a full charged battery , Put it in and drive last 1h home.
At home i disconnected battery and after that I unloaded the trunk , the rear of the car goes up! I Close trunk and wait for it to sinking back. Then I remember I disconected the battery , so I reconected battery but nothing happend. Only the front will working with no problem.
Okay I thinking maybe its for the broken alternator. I drive the car bouncing 15min to a shop , change the alternator and the car start charging 1 problem less But the rear suspension will not go back down. Front suspension worked , I drive it up and down up and down but only the front working. Then the front stop to!!! Check the Maxi fuse and orange 40 was blow , change it and it blow again.
Thinking it have something to do with hight level sensor rear , so i disconected it and put in a new fuse. This time the fuse was okay but the pump not run , and big suspension fail comes up on display. I conected the rear sensor again and yes the fuse blow again.
Can it be the sensor? Is it damaged and make the fuse blow , or is it something happend with pump during the times a drive with no charging?
Its strange beacouse the front working good first , why did the fuse not blow directly then if it problem with rear sensor.
Sorry for bad writing in English but this forum is the best

Re: Suspension Stuck on high rear and low front
With all that driving without a charging system I suspect it has caused havoc with the electrical systems for such a long drive!
Then driving with the suspension up bouncing will not have done any favours either. However, I would suggest you ensure the battery is charged and try the BSI reset first, which can cure some electrical faults for ECUs that may be problematic as a result of power failure.
Failing that I suspect that your hydraulic pump motor is or has failed, whether due to contamination of oil inside causing the pump to overheat and the fuse to blow. There is often a lot of oily grime in here that causes a short circuit.

Re: Suspension Stuck on high rear and low front
Yes I think the car is confused , from the unloading whitout battery
So you think the hight sensor back is okay? I think I Will try a new one?
Bsi reset is when disconect battery and back and put ignition on?
Will it work with a broken fuse?
The pump is changed last Winter so its in Good condition. It blow a fuse 5 months ago when I pull a 9meter caravan.

Re: Suspension Stuck on high rear and low front
That does not necessarily follow. Was it a new pump fitted?

Also, that video is wrong. Waiting only15 seconds is no enough time. You need to wait at least 4 -5 minutes before connecting the battery, and then another 3 minutes minimum after connecting it. You don’t turn on the main headlamps, just the sidelights, you don’t open and shut the doors.
Don’t worry about the suspension in the procedure, just follow this one test is also linked at the bottom:

Re: Suspension Stuck on high rear and low front
I wonder (wonder, NOT know) if the car 'thinks' it is low (despite it being at full height), and is trying to raise it. If the pump cannot raise it (as it is already at full height) and is, therefore, pumping against an 'unexpected' resistance (that is too great to overcome) it is overloading the pump, hence blowing the fuse.
This is supposition, and not something I know, but it might be worth considering.

This can happen.
When my rear height corrector had a bit of a malfunction the car thought it was at normal height when it was in fact at max lift. The pump ran continuously despite hearing the LDS passing through the relief valve in the BHI (making a whining noise). This continued for about a minute before I intervened I turned it off, when I opened the bonnet there was white smoke coming from the pump
