It's pouring rain now so I might just go for a drive and I'll test them :)

Whoa, wait a minute.
Why did you tell me to check fuse F7 in the interior box?

I've been watching Patagonia special just now, part where Jeremy talks about dead instruments in the 928 and I've remembered your post about fuse F7.
It's the interior light fuse which is supposed to be 5A but someone put 7.5A fuse there before I've bought the car.

What the? In the manual it says it's interior light fuse, doesn't mention heated seats.

I just mentioned it to check as I’ve found out that these C4s can have slightly different layouts and configurations on the electrics depending on Country. Thought it worth a mention 😁

Heated seats have been working(mended themselves) up until now. I've replaced the fuse, checked the ground and tested the switch in the seat(intensity selector) and those 3 things are fine.
Last time heated seats stopped working was either due to the cleaning of the inside of the car or due to my passenger leaving the heated seat switched on for I don't know how long.

Again, both seats aren't working. What should I do now?
Could it be BSI related? Like some safety measure if the seat is left turned on or could it be a faulty temperature sensor somewhere? I've checked some wires under the seat and the connections and all seems to be fine. It really seems like the BSI won't agree to send the power to the heating elements for some reason.

Probably won't help but I had a similar problem with the passenger seat on my C5 X7 except that none of the electrics worked, heaters or seat adjusters. I went through all the electrics, fuses, wiring etc & tried everything I could think of with no success. Finally in frustration I thumped the seat cushion very hard, twice, with my bare hand! Magically the seats came back to life & have continued to work perfectly ever since! Doubt if it will work for you but may be worth a try!!
Good luck

Thanks :)

I doubt it's got anything to do with the seats since both seats died at the same tame and previously came back to life at the same time.

GiveMeABreak, could you please find out where do the seats connect to the BSI? Or is there some other connection that could be a problem?

I'm stuck at the moment - rebuilding VMs after problems with new router firmware, so stuck for a while. Will check later as I think the X7 seats are a completely different setup to yours.

Check Fuse F39 in cabin fuse bank BFH5 (a bank of 5 fuses F36 to F40)

The common earth could be an issue MC55

Replaced the fuse and checked the ground - all fine.

Are heated seats controlled by the BSI or some other controller? Peugeot 508 has a controller under the driver's seat. And how can I check temperature sensor and seat cushion pressure sensor for faults?

The passenger and driver seats each have a heated seat cushion and a heated back pad, both of which controlled by heated seat control units for each side. These control units are then connected to the Rheostats for each seat and both the rheostats and the control units share a control wire to the BSI that ensures operation of the seats only while the engine is running.

Thank you for the scheme and your help!!

How can I test control units and rheostats and where are they located?

If I understand the scheme correctly, this is how it goes:

Intensity selectors(8302 and 8303) are connected to the BSI by the 1074 wire. 6380 wires from both selectors are what sends the signal to the controllers to start heating. These are separated and don't intersect anywhere. BH39A are live wires from the battery.
The only thing that is, apart from the ground, connected to both controllers and thus seats is 40V BA 1074P wire, on the BSI labeled "22".
So if both seats aren't working, they either aren't getting any power from the fuse, the ground is bad or that 1074P wire is acting up.

Since the ground is not the problem, how can I test if power is coming from the battery/fuse and what can I do about that 1074P wire? How can I find it on the BSI and test it?

The 1074P wire is the control wire that the BSI uses to authorise the heating only with the engine is running. So yes that is a good place to start.

The PSF1 is the main engine fuse box fuse box that supplies the power to the seats from the battery.

As 8331 (Driver's Heated Seat Control Unit) & 8332 (Passenger Control Unit) are both supplied from the engine fuse box - it will be easy enough to check if there is power going to pins A4 via BH39B from the fusebox - as the power should be there on that wire (BH39B) regardless. 8331 and 8332 control units internally will not start the heating without the Ok from the BSI.

So if, (with engine running) you have BH39B power on that wire, then the problem is likely to be with the BSI control wire 1074P. :-D

Okay, I'll measure the voltage on the F39 fuse(since JBL working, there is current coming from the battery).
What if the control wire is the culprit? How can I distinguish the wire being at fault and BSI now allowing the heater to work?

Also, when I switched my multimeter to a short option(buzzes when there's a short) to check the 8302 for faults it didn't turn out as I expected. When I changed the setting on the scroll wheel, multimeter didn't buzz, it just "spiked" the numbers on the screen. That's the way that selector is supposed to work, just one short spike of current/contact?
