Hi,
I'm just trying to fix a couple of issues with my C3 1.4 e-hdi (2013).
The initial error was due to a faulty EGT sensor, which when removed the probe had broken off and I was unable to fit a new one as it felt that there was something blocking the hole.
I've since removed the DPF so I could get a better look and there was what I think maybe the cat? blocking the EGT fitting.
In the pic you can see the cat on the right with a couple of marks from the EGT probe.
The only way I can see for this to go back together leaves this sitting on the EGT sensor which doesn't seem right? Am I missing something or does the sensor sit in the grove with the part loose in the housing?
Thanks in advance.

Re: C3 1.4 Diesel DPF/Cat query.
Here are the diagrams I have - just for identification:
Here is the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor:
So the EGT sensor would have to go inside there to do its job, like a probe.
Part 17 is the Particle Filter Pressure Pipe (In) Part 18 is the Particle Filter Pressure Pipe (Out) |
1 is the Gas Temperature Sensor 5 is the DPF Differential Pressure Pipe |

Thanks for the diagrams, the issue I have is with the filter/block in my picture.
I can't find reference to it anywhere, to me it seems it should fit in the top of part 11 in your first diagram, however it is loose so actually falls onto the EGT sensor

Re: C3 1.4 Diesel DPF/Cat query.
Appreciate what you are saying - as these are not supposed to be serviced (officially), but replaced, there are no further details. Although yours is different on the C3, this official video shows the system, but if you keep an eye out at about 0.40 on you will see inside and one of the pipes (although hard to see which one) looks attached on the side and the probe is in between the 2 halves on the inside where there is a gap.
So I'm wondering if in the process of removing it, that block has become dislodged at some point and loose.
Personally, I would just plump for a new one, they can be gotten for £198 from here: (incidentally look at the picture of the one in this link....

If that part has come out of the muffler (part 11) then
http://www.exhaustdirect24.co.uk/produc ... 14613.html
They are £1110 and £900 respectively from PSA though...

Perfect that clears things up. Thanks for the links too.
I think the block became loose before removal and broke the sensor which is what caused the initial error. Just didn't want to buy a replacement if there was something I was missing.

Ok, no worries and best of luck with the replacement - there are lots of suppliers - but as ever some are better quality than others.

Hi Marc,
Is http://www.exhaustdirect24.co.uk/ somewhere you have used before? Just about to order the second part linked as this appears to be a replacement for the muffler/cat and dpf in one unit.
Thanks

Re: C3 1.4 Diesel DPF/Cat query.
Replacement unit finally fitted due to holidays and work, replacement procedure run through diagbox.
All seems to be ok so far, had some juddering when I first went out but from reading that may have been the sensodrive adjusting after a flat battery.
Thanks again for the advise,I'm sure it's saved me a fair amount of money.
