Re: Is my mechanic on the right track
Harry,
If the car goes to a height higher than Normal (when Normal height is selected), then there must be a reason for this. Usual cause is height control rod/lever mechanism out of adjustment or sticking, or height corrector (assuming its hydraulically ok) getting incorrect mechanical input from the suspension/roll-bar linkage.
My hunch is that something is sticking when the car goes over-height, and this unsticks itself, causing the car to drop to Normal level.

Good Citroen specialist at Dunsfold (nr Guildford), if that's not too far from you. I can post details.

Cheers Chris please do
Re: Is my mechanic on the right track
I wonder if it's just case of the height corrector being adjusted incorrectly. Did this behaviour start suddenly or has the car always been like this?
I've had 3 antisink Xantias so far and all of them have slightly sunk at the rear when left overnight. Assuming you have checked the returns and the accumulator spheres already I'm questioning if yours just behaves normally but drops a little more noticeably because it is set too high.

They are
SGG Dunsfold Park Garage (at Dunsfold, on the A281, a few miles from Guildford), 01483 275971.
Were previously Shalford Green Garage, a Citroen specialist independent, and know the lot, DS onwards. Good website.
Actually on Dunsfold Aerodrome/Top Gear track. Temptations, I know...

Re: Is my mechanic on the right track
Thanks James. If you wind back a little you will see it started after I had cleaned and reset the HC and cradle, so although it was carefully re-assembled back in the same location; maybe not. The puzzle was it settling overnight to the correct height and no further. Nevertheless, it will be reset before I put it back on the road. Thanks to all for input; much appreciated .

Sometimes if my cars been on HIGH and then back to normal it will sink down a few hours later. Day to day it seems to only drop a tiny bit, so wether sticking it all the way up is pulling air in! regardless, it'll pump back up when started to the correct height.

Re: Is my mechanic on the right track
No change in setting required; that's the way it goes - will do a height reset.
