I am not very knowledgeable on the hydro pnuematic system, but I do not believe the strut tops are interchangeable. The pipes for a normal system are 3.5mm, but the ones for hydractive are 10mm. The other thing is that (from what I have read) the S2 strut tops are stronger than the S1 (to overcome the failure issue), and the pipework is different to compensate. Going from S1 to S2 is do-able as you can get spacers.

The top will fit in place BUT however, as you will find the pipe attachment is a completely different size!!

So unless your VERY clever you can drill the hole out and tap it to suit the 10mm feed pipe. But I do not know the drill size or tap size you will need....

I had a passenger one here ready to fit... But ive sold it to someone else now.. Its a Series 2 Exclusive top, which Im going to fit to a Series One VSX... I have the spacer too..

If you go down the drill route after finding out the Tap and Drill size, you may not need a spacer if you get the drilling correctly done depth wise..

Taffy, unless you are a skilled engineer then I’d entrust the drilling and tapping to an engineering firm. I can't see it costing much as to an engineer it's a nice, straightforward job.

Take him and old strut top so he can see exactly how to form the seat at the correct depth...

Ahhhh he is thinking spanner size to undo the pipe!! the large ones are 17mm spanner for 10mm pipe and small is 8 or 10mm spanner for 3.5mm pipe!! i bet that's his thinking!

There's probably instructions on the site somewhere but basically:- Open an account with "Photobucket" which is a free photo storage and editing site. . Once you have an account, save the picture you want to post in "My Pictures" on your computer from your camera or phone. Open your photobucket page and sign in. Click the "upload" button and navigate to "My Pictures", double click on the required photo and it will upload to your photobucket page. Once there, click on the photo, then copy the IMG code right side of the page, then paste it into your post on the forum.

Sounds complicated but it's not really, once you get the account set up. Remember your log on details because you will probably use it a lot when you get going.
Rick.
