Leaking Rain water

Post by tony trans am »

My LHD GS lets in water when it rains, it runs down to drip off brake pedal switch, nothing is immediately obvious, windscreen rubber looks good. Is there a common fault?

I had something similar on a 406, not quite the same I know but that was because the grommet on the bonnet pull cable had been pulled out which is directly above the pedals, ended up scrapping the car as it soaked the electronics - you won't be having that problem on yours!

Could be leaves blocking the drain holes under the bonnet - wherever they might be!
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Inside every old person is a young person wondering what the hell happened.

I had the same and there is a rubber 'vent' thing at the top of the wheel arch, squeeze it so it opens and loads of crap and water will come out.

Flush it out with a hose once it is flowing to clear out any remaining debris.

My GSA had the same problem - an "L" shape rubber hose, aft of the front wheel arch, was choka full of leaves and mud essentially.
I pulled mine right out and gave a good flush with a garden hose. LHS was easier (actually, not sure if I did RHS) as the LHM tank isn't there but still a bit awkward, good to have someone with flexible arm and small hand to help you.
It was so bad the car used to make sloshing noise when I drive on bends (as GSA leans a lot) - quite funny now I think about it.
