Citroen Visa 40th Birthday 8/9 Sep 2018

Post by Six-cylinder »

2018 is the 40th Anniversary for the Visa and we are going to celebrate that on 8/9 September 2018 in the UK.

The plan is gather many Visas together at the Chevrons Rally, Little Horwood near Milton Keynes, MK17 0PF.

We intend to arrange a Visa run, out to a place of interest and there will be lots of other Visa-themed activities.

It is a fantastic site for a weekend event, with plenty of parking, an indoor hall, modern showers and a kitchen, allowing drinks to be served throughout the weekend and hot food to be offered.

While this is a delightful rural setting you are only 3 miles away from food shops and takeaways. There are a variety of hotels within 20 minutes drive of the Show ground.

There is on site camping on Friday-Saturday-Sunday nights. I can provide free camping also, for any Visa owners who want to make a longer trip of it, just 3 miles from the Rally field.

If you live outside of the UK, we will be delighted to see you. I live locally, so can offer help and advice with attending the event.

If you Visa does not run, then bring it on a trailer. I may have to do that with one of mine!

Please reserve a place in your 2018 diary and bring your Visa along to this, its biggest UK gathering for many years!

Apologies, for I don't have anything constructive to add to the thread, only one of the most satisfying videos on youtube happens to be based on a Visa:

There seemed to be a bit of a competion on Utube, maybe a couple of years ago, to see whose C15 would start after standing the longest time at the lowest temperature.

The plan is to bring 2x Visa 17RD, Special 652cc, C15 and LNA Inca.

Unfortunately the engine is broken in my Super E and the GT needs rust repairs.

Apart from the color - AND yours appears to be a Euro spec. base model, whereas mine is a gin-U-ine American ETC!

Actually I remember seeing it outside the house last year/year before? when we were ferrying some of your collection to the venue - but never paid it much attention (even though I had another Seville STS at the time).

Ours started life in Japan, no we did not know that either when we bought it, thinking it was indeed European. We didn't really mind one way or the other but it has been out to sky for a TV ad and the film company say its film star life is limited because the boot number plate recess will not take a US plate.

It did go to the Citroen D rally this year but is now broken because the end fitting for the gear selector cable is worn wear it fits on the gearbox arm and sometimes won't release the inhibitor switch. Any idea where I might get a replacement?

There can only be a handful in the country and French + Eldorado is a strange combo!
