Most Scottish chippies are bent so they easy manage! They will deep-fry anything that fits in the fryer[emoji23] [emoji529] [emoji4]

Is it true they'll deep-fry Mars bars or is that just an urban legend?

That is true. Not every chippy will. I have never had one, which is a major surprise as I usually do everything that is bad for me! It's probably as well that I haven't as I have a compulsive and addictive personality. Not a good combination!

Yum Yum :-D

Davie, that's one for you to try rather than a deep fried Mars bar. Much healthier as the coconut can be considered one of your five a day

Last chance for Hoodies is tomorrow, so they can be made and collected from Cosford.

Ok, with this event rapidly approaching, we're trying to organise something for the Saturday evening, after the first day of the gathering.

We're looking at getting in touch with a couple of pubs in the Albrighton area to see if we can get a deal to allow everyone to have a bite to eat and be sociable rather then everyone heading their own way for dinner.

How would everyone who is planning to attend for the weekend feel about us organising a "Pie and a Pint" or a "Beer and a Burger" deal with a local pub to allow us all to have a sit down, and a good chin wag about all things Citroen, and who knows what else!

If you are interested, please comment below stating if you are happy with the proposed deal and I'll see what we can organise. If you have any special requirements you'd like me to enquire about, please also let me know.

I look forward to seeing everyone in a fortnight and admiring lots of C6's :)

David.

This may pique interest -

The Fox

The Fox at Chetwynd Aston is having a beer festival from Friday to Sunday. For those whose don't know it, it is a lovely pub, normally have at least 7 real ales on pump (and lagers too and ciders) but you can expect many many more. Excellent food for those who want a good meal out, though it may pay to book a table. It is a popular venue!!

That would be why they wouldn't entertain the idea of a table for a large group then.

Righto,

If you're coming to the gathering this weekend, please read below:

A table has been booked for 20 people on Saturday evening for between 19:30 and 20:00. I struggled to find a local pub that was interested in catering for a group of 20 and didn’t want food pre-ordering before arrival.

Anyway, the venue… The table is booked at:

The Thomas Botfield
Central Square
Telford Shopping Centre
Telford
Shropshire
TF3 4BW

http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pub ... s-botfield" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It’s a JD Wetherspoon pub, which has a wide variety of food available to suit all tastes and all budgets.

Apparently just up the road is a big Debenhams and directly across from the Debenhams is a big car park that used to be an Asda.

I will print some copies of the address to take with me so if you want to join us, please pick one up on Saturday.

David.

That is the Red Oak car park next to what was Asda (moved across town). It's a 24 hour park and charge is £0.50 all night if arriving after 18:00; pay-station type setup. ShoppingCenter has a large Debenhams as stated, a large M&S, House of Fraser.....
The "roads" shown on various maps are internal to the covered Shopping Mall. The multi storey parks shut at 18:00, but Red Oak is on the flat and is 24 hour.
On the weather front, the rain bucketing down here at the moment is due to stop at 16:00 :) and remain dry until Tuesday at least 8-) - well that's what it says...
See you Saturday, Regards

Excellent rally, tons of C6s. Cosford is the perfect venue.
Bit of a trek but well worth it.
Took along four of my grandkids who firstly enjoyed a ride in Mr. Trainman's C6 - very impressed. Thanks Steve, much appreciated.
They also were very much taken with the aircraft museum which is a fascinating day out on it's own - actually a day is really not enough to see it all.

Had a bit of a scare on the way down, particularly as I hadn't packed any tools. Usually do and have never needed them.

Felt something hit the floor of the car and assumed something thrown up by a tyre.
About twenty miles down the road, came to negotiate a roundabout and couldn't disengage the clutch, pedal completely solid.
Presumed the clutch pedal clip then realised it couldn't be that.
Pushed the pedal down a bit, enough to change gear but very difficult.
It got better, then worse then better again.
Realised that what had happened was the fan control module had fallen out of the air conduit and lodged under the pedal, then shifted slightly.
Removed it (had welded itself to the rubber mat) and all well again - except no fans of course.

Apart from that the C5 went perfectly- as usual.
Pictures later, just got home after returning grandkids to respective parents.

That's an amazing problem Steve :? Still, at least it was nothing serious and fans hopefully easily fixed...

Pleased the show was good... I'd have loved to have gone but my long-distance driving days are truly over :(
