Thursday evening, returning from Lidl's in Eltham, more than a little surprise to spy an Estafette in someone's drive.

Waiting for the bus Friday morning, almost as surprised when an AX went past in the steady stream of early rush-hour traffic up the A20 into "town"

Coming home on t'bus that evening, glanced out the window, just in time to catch sight of a tidy, dk green R4 parked in the service road - only about 15 mins walk from the house, but never seen it before.
Later, at some point on the way down to Devon, perhaps on the Exeter stretch of the M5, passed a C15 Romahome; flicked hazzards on but no response, could've been surprised but get the distinct feeling that Romahomers don't identify with, or even recognise, the base vehicle.

On the return trip, Sunday evening, amazed how many early Clios I passed - lost count at about 4.

I spotted this little beauty in Reading recently. It normally resides under a tarpaulin;

Spotted this rather tidy BX in the wild today whilst out on a bike ride...

No idea of model as it was more or less debadged and I had to be quick as I stopped a group ride especially to take the picture!

Spotted near Stagsden in Bedfordshire.

Nice one. Looks a tad on the throaty side, judging by the wheels and spoiler. Although you never can tell...
Someone will do a reg no search, I'm sure.

I did wonder if it was a Valver at first... Maybe a TZD or similar...

It looked well-loved and I expected the owner to show up when i showed an interest but no such luck although I had to be quick so did not hang around or look at it too closely...

Yes, I've never owned a BX despite coming close on a few occasions... I really do feel I've missed out...

I rode in a few and found the ride sublime...

They (and the CX) were the last of the long-throw hydropneumatic suspensions, before they were firmed up for XM and Xantia, and also had the benefit of being simple to work on. Precious little complex electronics, except for the fuel-injected petrols. Wafty ride (except on the GTi's and the like), and a light and airy cabin.

Someone get one up to MK for a day! \:D/

Now that is a bit of excellent photography....full of texture, shadows and light even better in close-up.
Not a "Hollywood Handshake" but a Newcastle Falcon Top Deck Limeade and Lager for that!

Something on up north today or over the weekend?

Saw four 2CVs and a Dyanne heading south on the A74M(M) today round about the Gretna area. Dyanne really wasn't hanging around either, and was happily mixing with outside lane traffic.

Ride looked like it must be fantastic...it honestly looked like it was a hovercraft, the body was staying completely stable as the wheels bounced around dealing with the surface.

Eggs, ploughed fields and all that  Their suspension systems do work rather well - designed for the rough old French roads of the period and now perfect for the rough old roads of the UK these days

As I understand it the 2CV was designed to (amongst lots of other things) allow farmers to get their produce (including eggs) to market without any damage, over the roads of the time.

I used to use a 2CV for regular journeys up and down to Lancashire from Marlow, being a masochist. I once did the 207 miles in 2hra 50 mins. That’s an average speed faster than the manufacturers quoted max. I could wind it up to a true 80mph provided it was a calm day with no headwind.

I would, however be more deaf at the end of the journey than I would be after doing it on a motorbike.

Wear a top hat, get a sheep in the back, eggs across a ploughed field and 4 people when not using it for sheep.
