My daughter has just bought a 95 Pug 106 1.4D with 55000 on the clock. As far as I am aware the belt has not been changed. I know the manual states 72000 ......change it?

Have you checked the price on the on-line shop for GSF? they do sell head lamp units.

Had a look under the bonnet of Jeans Pug 306 today. On lifting it up, I was surprised to see there is no soundproofing on the underside? the question is, should there be some? It looks a bit naked without any! :roll: :oops: ..

I've replaced the vibrating 405 with a nice red 2.0 litre petrol turbo 406 Executive, for a bargain price.

It has 84,000 miles on it though, and one or two niggles.

The first one is that I can't tune in the RF key plip. I follow the instructions in the owners manual, but the car just doesn't seem to pick up the plip. The plip has new batteries...

Mainly for Nick, but also for anybody else who needs to know.

The heater in a late model 405 lives above the passenger footwell, and is held in with three philips screws. The usual plug/socket combo connects it to the loom.

With the three screws out the heater will drop straight out.

The motor can be extracted from the housing but needs a bit...

This might sound like a daft question, asking for someone else, but can anyone tell me the pressure rating for the radiator cap on a 405 SRi 1994 model (series 2)
I have my ideas but my friend called into a radiator specialist who told him something entirely different, so I'm trying to settle an argument.

Car is a Peugeot 306 1.6 with the 8v TU series engine.

I've recently noticed a lot of oil in the engine bay, and some on the drive! Seems to be coming from right at the top on the left by the cambelt cover(see photos) Any ideas? Praying it isn't the head gasket as it's already been done (about a year and 10,000 miles ago). :?

I've just had my Air con regassed, well tried to anyway. Under the leak test it showed a hole in the Rad.

Therefore could someone please tell me how bigger job it is to replace and roughly how much this should cost?

I take it there are no ways of plugging the hole, like you would with a normal water rad?

I've noticed over the last month that the warning led on the rear fog lamp switch started glowing.

If I pressed it in and out a few times it would go out.

Now it is on permanent whenever the lights are on but the rear fogs are out.

I've noticed some movement in the joint at the bottem of the hub carrier.Please can anyone advise how to replace this.Is it possible to compress spring and take off without disturbing driveshaft.Do you need the special tool to unscrew the joint?

I dont have this vibration when the car has already started moving. It is just before moving on the first gear.

The alarm beeping once when you are locking is a clue.
It sounds like the switch on one of the door latches or its wire between the door & the A post is faulty, The car thinks the door isnt shut correctly & unlocks the doors again.
The early 306s DID suffer from wiring problems between the doors & A posts, But I would have thought Peugeot would...

Hi, My rear heated screen no longer seems to work.
When you press the button the brighter light appears but fails to stay. You can hear the initial click of the relay.
I take it the big orange one is the rear heater relay?
What could it be, is there a connecter block somewhere that could cause the problem?

Have you got underneath and checked it not rattling against the heatshield? If its not then might be an idea to remove the centre section and give it a shake, see if anything comes out. Yes it can fail MOT.

Neighbour has an N reg, 306 HDI which is difficult to start, but once started runs normally. How do I remove the facia panel covering the 3 heater controls. A cable has unclipped itself on the vent control and the heat control is not moving the heat control cable.

So I want to remove the heater control assembly, but can't remove the black panel to gain access. :?

2) Ive looked but cant find it. What is the test to find out which glow plugs have gone using a multi meter without taking any of the glow plug out of the car cos its too cold to fiddle about?

Hey guys, there is a pipe snapped off in the footwell of the passanger side of my 306. Its connected to a copper fitting coming (looks like ) from the wing into the car? The plastic bit that the pipe connects into is snapped off...

Any ideas? Its nomally covered by the plastic bit that covers the wires under the glove box etc.

Typical isn't it. It gets to winter, and the heater matrix in the 405 is blocked.

As far as I was aware, all 405's use the same type/style/shape of heater matrix. But looking at the GSF site, they show 405 heater matrix and 405 heater matrix BEHR type .

The headlamps on my 306 don't appear to give out much light on dip, although full beam seems fine,the glass area in front of the dipped lamps has a definite yellow tinge to it.
